Child crying,
unaware of the danger,
innocent but ignorant.
Panther gasping,
starving from a lack of food,
ferocious but sinless.
Which is the more innocent?
No one knows.
Hunter comes,
saves the child and kills the panther.
He's the hero.
Animals, men, all
do seek their meat from god.
but mankind,
are superior.
We can kill, slaughter ruthlessly,
despite the vigorous lives left behind.
Though they are not the same kind,
they are innocent, they are alive.
Their death,
ridicules our so-called kindness,
reflects our irresponsibility,
proofs our brutality.
I enjoyed reading your poetic responses to the short stories! In particular, I found the poem about Love to be very effective. Very thoughtful...and I liked the extended metaphor. Continue your creative writing!
